Biodiversity of TFRI

The area of TFRI campus has semiarid type of climate with mean annual precipitation of 1358mm. Surrounded by agricultural fields and residential area the campus of the institute is rich in floral diversity which provides an abode to the local fauna, further adding to the bio-diversity of the campus. Gour River and plantations of the TFRI estate provide a mosaic of habitats for the local fauna, 66, species of butterflies, 48 species of dragonflies and damselflies, along with 140 species of local and migratory birds adds to the beauty of the campus.
